Jr/Sr. High School Morning Announcements for Tuesday, October 31, 2017
 
1. Let’s remember that we are focusing on R for Respect during term 1. Respect should be shown in all areas of the building. We should be walking through hallways orderly and with appropriate voice volume to Respect the learning environment around us.
 
2. Homecoming will be Thursday November 9 at Whites of Westport. Tickets are $35, permission slips and ticket money are November 1. Return tickets and permission slips to the Athletics Department.
 
3. There is a staff pumpkin decorating contest. All students that vote will have a chance to win a free Westport T-shirt. Voting papers will be on all lunch tables and cups will be near all pumpkins for students to place their vote, only one vote per student. There will be a winner for each lunch period for the students.
 
4. The ASVAB Test (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) will be offered to all students grade 10-12 on Wednesday, November 22nd. Please sign up in Guidance and see Mrs. Medeiros in guidance with any questions about the exam.
 
5. Dual Enrollment paperwork for UMD to return the completed paperwork by Friday Nov 3rd.
 
6. Students Against Destructive Decisions or SADD is looking for new members. They are welcoming grades 7 through 12, and they meet every Thursday after school in room 106. If you are interested in becoming a member, all you need to do is go to a Thursday meeting. It looks great on college resumes, and it's a great way to better the school.

7. Today, Emmanuel College will be here at 9:45 am and Rhode Island College at 1:00 pm.
 
8. Next STEEL meeting is scheduled Wed Nov 8th in the Media Center from 2:15-3:15. ALL members need to attend.
 
9. Fall River Municipal Credit Union is looking for member for their Junior Advisory Board. It is an opportunity to win scholarship money, serve on an Actual Financial Institution Advisory Board, Resume experience, improve your financial literacy skills, empower other young people to be financially responsible and it creates an opportunity to impact marketing decisions.
 
10. Any upperclassmen would like to be a part of Prom Committee to contact myself or Mrs. Charette!

11. Haunted Hallway will take place on Monday October 30th from 5-7. Volunteers needs to hand out candy and snacks. For Haunted Hallway: Mr. Millett is looking for volunteers from 4-8 pm and families will be attending from 5-7.

12. The Senior National Honor Society is sponsoring a Halloween Dress-up day. Pay a dollar to wear your costume on Halloween. No masks or head coverings are allowed. Any student wearing a costume to school for the NHS fundraiser will be expected to be dressed appropriately.
This means:
• Must be Identifiable - ( No Masks/face paints )
• No weapons or implements allowed
• No Clown Costumes
If costumes/attire is deemed inappropriate by administration/staff, students will be required to change and parents will be notified.

13. Please put your milk containers in the provided recycle bins to benefit the extended day programs.
 
14. Jr High Student Council meets on Tuesday, Nov 7th from 2-3pm in room 261
