Policies and Procedures

   Parent Pick up and Dismissal Procedures for SY2017-2018


 Passing any bus or van with their lights on or their stop signs out is a $250.00 fine!

Any Issues that happen on school buses with students should be discussed with building Principals NOT with bus drivers!
Westport Junior/Senior High School - Grades 7 - 12 drop-off and pick up procedure:
All students should be dropped off and picked up around the back of the building.
Please pull all the way forward as instructed by outdoor staff and we allow groups of cars to unload at one time to keep traffic minimal.
Students are NOT to be dropped off or picked up in the front of the High School.  This area is for bus/van drop off and pick up ONLY!
Students are not allowed to ride school buses to friends houses for any reason unless it is an emergency!
Macomber and Elementary School student pickup procedure:
ALL persons picking up student's must have ID's ready to show staff members before students will be released. 
New student pick up notes must be sent to school for the new school year, last years arrangements are no longer valid! The note MUST list who will be picking up the students.
(do not list grandmother, aunt, etc. please list persons full name)
Westport Elementary School - Grades 3 - 6
Parent pick up and drop-off procedure. Parent pick up will be by students last names as follows:
letters A - K will be dismissed from the cafeteria door, letters L - Z will be dismissed from the back outside gym door. Anyone picking up students MUST show their ID's. Pick up notes from last year are no longer valid. 
NEW NOTES MUST BE SENT TO SCHOOL for all parent pick ups. Parents are not allowed in the foyer area.

Macomber School Grades Pre - K, Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grade

Parent pick up and drop-off procedure:

Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade parents will drop-off and pick up students on the Osborn St. side of the Macomber School,

Staff will be outside to receive and dismiss the students. At pick up time, parents will line up outside the side door and modular unit entrance, where staff will take students names and release students to parents. Please have ID’s ready to show staff.


Pre-School parents will drop off and pick up outside the Main Office entrance area of the Macomber School.


Bus changes are NOT allowed during the first two weeks of each school year.
Bus change forms must be filled out and preferably faxed to the school. If you do not have access to a fax machine, please mail the form to the student's school address or e-mail the form to mrapoza@westportschools.org.

Transportation arrangements that were made in the previous school year are no longer valid!

Please submit new transportation arrangements for this current school year to the student's school.

Bus scheduled times may vary during the first two weeks of school.
Please have the student(s) at the bus stop 10 to 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled bus time.

         SY2017-2018 Bus Routes will be available on the WEBSITE 
Monday, August 28, 2017.
"Bus Change forms MUST be filled out and sent to your child's school no later than Friday, August 4, 2017. This is if your child needs to be picked up or dropped off at a different address than the home address. Last year's requests are not carried forward to this upcoming school year. New change forms must be submitted each year. Also, NO changes are allowed the first two weeks of the new school year. This is to ensure a smooth and safe transition to and from school for students and staff."
