Our Vision & Mission
District Wide School Safety
The Westport Community Schools recognizes the importance of providing a learning environment for our students, staff, and families that is emotionally and physically safe. We meet regularly with local safety officials to identify areas for continued improvement in our safety practices and establish a timeline for implementing changes. In addition, we will be establishing school safety committees at each of our buildings which will include representation of students, staff, administration, and families.
As appropriate and without revealing confidential procedures, we will continue to update the community periodically through this page and during school committee meetings.

School Choice
The inter-school choice is a voluntary state program that allows a parent to enroll his or her child into a school district that is not the child’s home district.
Annually, school districts, through their school committee, need to take a vote. For the 2024 – 2025 school year, the school committee of the Westport Community Schools voted to accept five (5) students in Grade 7, five (5) students in Grade 8, ten (10) students in Grade 9, ten (10) students in Grade 10, and five (5) students in Grade 11.
Westport School Building Committee
The Westport School Building Committee established a web page that provides members of the community with current information as we work towards providing high-quality public school buildings that support education for all students to become passionate lifelong learners.
