Dear WES Wildcat Families,

Welcome to the 2022–2023 school year at Westport Elementary School, Home of the WES Wildcats! WES is a special place with dedicated teachers & staff. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to be the Principal of both Westport Elementary and the Macomber Primary School. I am excited to work collaboratively with Mr. Aguiar, our new Assistant Principal, and our staff to create a safe environment that encourages creativity and growth for all.

The WES staff is committed to making a positive difference in all children who enter our school. We value home and school communication and invite families to work in partnership with us to ensure that children reach their full potential.

I encourage you to become involved in our school in a way that fits your time and interests. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.

Please click the link below to access the Westport Community Schools Institutional Self-Evaluation. This self-evaluation is to be completed annually to ensure that all students, regardless of race, color, sex, gender identity, religion, national origin, limited English proficiency, sexual orientation, disability, or housing status, have equal access to all programs, including athletics and other extracurricular activities. Your feedback regarding these matters is critically important, and will be used in the development of a plan to address any identified areas of focus.

Students in Mrs Morins 1st Grade Class begun learning about mindfulness today. They read a story about a rock named Ishi who gave us tips on how to choose happiness, share happiness and enjoy happiness. They all received their our own rocks and named them. Mrs Morin created an Instagram page for our WCS families to follow. Please follow us on Instagram at our_ishi_adventures. Mrs Morin will be sharing happiness throughout our school this year with our Ishi rock adventures! 🪨❤️

Students learned a little about fall, leaves, and the wind today in Library Specialist class. They then made their own 3D squirrel from the story.
