Principal's Message

Dear WES Wildcat Families,

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! Reflecting back on last  year, we are so proud of the work done by our students, parents, and teachers through some very unique times.

With the new school year comes a new sense of excitement and anticipation. A huge factor is Westport Elementary will now be responsible for the educating students in grades 1 through 4.  So our focus now is solely on early and primary education.

I am proud to continue to serve as your school principal and look forward to working with our new Assistant Principal, Mr. Michael Grandfield. Together along with the WES staff, we want every student to feel welcome and safe and to reach their full potential. At WES, we will continue to build a school culture where kindness matters. We will encourage students to show kindness to one another, their teachers, and their families.

I want to express my sincere appreciation to all of you for your pledge and commitment to Westport Elementary School and the success of all our students. I am proud to lead the students and staff of Westport Elementary through a wonderful school year!

Please click the link below to access the Westport Community Schools Institutional Self-Evaluation. This self-evaluation is to be completed annually to ensure that all students, regardless of race, color, sex, gender identity, religion, national origin, limited English proficiency, sexual orientation, disability, or housing status, have equal access to all programs, including athletics and other extracurricular activities. Your feedback regarding these matters is critically important, and will be used in the development of a plan to address any identified areas of focus.

Thank you State Representative Schmid!

The Start Em Young Program kicked off their spring activities, at the WES, this week! Here’s the first episode of the Start Em Young Weekly School News. What an amazing job by this group of 3rd and 4th graders!

On Friday April 1st the WES had their 1st Cereal Run! They will be donating 1,281 boxes of cereal to the Westport Food Pantry.

Congratulation to all the Winners!
