Guidance Department

The mission of the Westport Middle and Westport High School Counseling Departments is to provide a comprehensive program that will assist all students in acquiring the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to become effective students, responsible citizens, productive workers and global learners.

Guidance

The guidance counselors provide a comprehensive counseling program designed to ensure student success. Counselors work to facilitate each student’s personal, academic, and career development through individual guidance and group activities. Counseling goals aim to foster student potential through identifying interests and abilities; enhancing productivity, dependability and responsibility; constructing self expression and control; and building decision making and conflict resolution skills, along with other social competencies that assist youth in becoming healthy well rounded adults.

Where are they now?

Henrique Melo, a graduate of 2019 went to UMASS-Dartmouth as part of the College NOW program.  Henrique was the first person in his family to attend college and qualified for the program.  He was a phenomenal young man and his collegiate record makes that point obvious.
