Principal's Message

Dear Westport Elementary School Families,

I want to thank you for your support during my second year as the Principal of Westport Elementary. We had a great 2024-25 school year with many successful activities and academic opportunities for our students. I have to give credit to our amazing staff for their dedication, creativity and competence for all of our successes.

I would like to continue making improvements at the WES this school year and for this I ask for your continued support. As we did this past year, we will be
sending out a newsletter (at least monthly) in addition to updates at various times to keep all of our families informed about all things at WES. Please be sure to check our website and utilize the online community portal to stay updated on your child’s progress throughout the year.

Please reach out to me with any questions at any time so that I can assist in a
timely manner.

Sincerely,

Mr. Kevin Aguiar

Westport Elementary School Principal

Message from our Assistant Principal

Dear WES Students and Families,

I am honored to serve as your Assistant Principal and to work alongside our dedicated staff, supportive families, and talented students. I look forward to partnering with you to

support the success, growth, and well-being of every student in our school community.

At Westport Elementary School, we believe every student has the ability to achieve excellence when given the right tools, encouragement, and opportunities. Our goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where each student feels valued, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential.

We recognize that strong partnerships between school and home are essential to student success. I encourage you to stay connected through our school website, newsletters, and events, and to reach out with any questions, ideas, or concerns. Your involvement and support make a tremendous difference.

I am eager to get to know each of you and to work together to make Westport Elementary School a place where students not only achieve academically but also grow as kind, respectful, and responsible individuals. Please know that my door is always open. I welcome your questions, ideas, and feedback.

Thank you for your trust, your support, and your commitment to our school community. Let’s make this year one of our best yet!

Sincerely,

Robin Morin

Westport Elementary School Assistant Principal

Ms. Connors’ 4th-grade STEM class

Students in Ms. Connors’ 4th-grade STEM class worked in teams to engineer a field goal post. They then used Dash Robots, controlled by iPad software, to launch a ball through the uprights. The students collected data on velocity and had a great time collaborating. Thanks to the PTO, who purchased covers and an iPad cart, and a special thank you to the Westport Education Foundation for supporting the purchase of the iPads.

Unified Reading Club at WES:

Excited to announce the start of our Unified Reading Club at WES! We’ll be meeting once a month to read and share stories with Ms. Marcel’s class. Can’t wait to connect and learn together! 📚
