Greetings Students, Families, and Staff,

I hope this message finds you well and that you are having a wonderful and rejuvenating summer break. As your principal, I am absolutely thrilled to welcome you back to Westport Middle High School for the 2026-2027 school year. I can hardly contain my excitement for what awaits us!

Whether you’re spending your summer relaxing at the beach, exploring new places, catching up on reading, or simply enjoying quality time with loved ones, I trust you'll return refreshed and ready to dive into another year of growth and discovery.

As we prepare to open our doors once again, I want to share with you the vision that will guide us throughout this school year: Student Engagement and Student-Led Learning. This focus represents a fundamental shift in how we approach education at Westport. We believe that when students take ownership of their learning—when they ask the questions, pursue their passions, and lead their own educational journeys—extraordinary things happen.

Welcome back Wildcats!

Dear Westport Middle School Students and Families,

Welcome to the 2006-2027 school year! I hope your summer was filled with opportunities to relax, spend time with family and friends, and create lasting memories. As we begin another exciting year together, I am thrilled to welcome both our returning Wildcats and those who are joining our school community for the first time.

My name is Sean Persico, and I am honored to continue serving as Assistant Principal for Westport Middle School. One of the greatest privileges of my role is building relationships with our students, families, and staff. Every new school year brings fresh opportunities to learn, grow, challenge ourselves, and celebrate success together.

Last year, our students demonstrated resilience, kindness, and determination both inside and outside the classroom. Those accomplishments have set a strong foundation for the year ahead, and I know our students will continue to make us proud.

Throughout this school year, we will remain committed to creating a school culture where every student feels safe, respected, included, and supported. We will continue to emphasize academic excellence, personal responsibility, positive character, and meaningful connections. Middle school is a time of tremendous growth, and we want every student to know they belong, their voice matters, and they are capable of achieving great things.

To our families, thank you for your continued partnership and trust. Your support plays an essential role in your child's success, and we look forward to working together throughout the year. Open communication and strong collaboration between home and school are vital to helping every student reach their full potential.

As we open the doors for another school year, I encourage every student to embrace new opportunities, take positive risks, support one another, and make the most of each day. Whether it's trying something new, joining a club or team, asking for help when needed, or lending a helping hand to a classmate, every action contributes to making Westport Middle School an outstanding place to learn and grow.
